Queer LifeSpace is an award-winning nonprofit counseling agency based in San Francisco that serves clients across the Bay Area and State of California. Our mission is to provide affordable access to therapy for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Our hardworking staff and clinicians constantly strive to serve the underserved and are passionate about providing services to clients from all walks of life regardless of their ability to pay.

Your generous donation goes toward subsidizing individual, couples, and group therapy. It also funds youth programs like Outlandish! (outdoor wellness program), EQUARTY (support for young queer artists), and Rural Youth Outreach (free virtual therapy for youth in rural areas).

We provide life-saving, low-cost mental health services specifically for LGBTQIA+ individuals in California, many of whom face systemic barriers to accessing care on top of the marginalization, discrimination, and stigmatization already faced by the community.

Individual therapy at QLS starts at just $30 per session, a fraction of the typical cost*.

*A January 2024 survey of 114 therapy agencies in CA revealed that individual therapy costs around $171 per session statewide. The average cost in urban areas was higher — nearly $200 per session. It is essential to note that most agencies surveyed do not accept health insurance. [Source]
